This forum will allow Business in the Community's (BITC) race champion members to get early insights on the latest campaign developments, contribute to thought leadership, share common challenges and brainstorm solutions.
Ahead of the publication of the 2019 A-level results, Rachael Saunders, Education Campaign Director at Business in the Community, says:
Organisations from the education and employment sectors, including Business in the Community, have united to build a universal framework of essential skills for workplaces of the future.
To futureproof businesses, everyone must be equipped with the ability to recognise, develop and articulate the skills they need to be successful in work. It is not a new challenge, but is one that must be tackled with increasing urgency.
This event marks the one-year anniversary of the launch of the Race at Work Charter.
Business in the Community (BITC) in partnership with Mercer Marsh Benefits and BITC's Wellbeing Leadership Team are delighted to launch the Mental Health at Work 2019 report.
This event will celebrate Business in the Community's (BITC) Education programme in the North East of England and the positive impact it has had on local schools, the business partners who support the programme and, most importantly, the students who have benefited from the programme.
Awareness of mental health and how it can affect the workplace has come on in leaps and bounds in the past decade. Yet, domestic abuse and its impacts in work is still in the foothills, perhaps the last workplace taboo.
We know that business needs young people with essential skills, such as leadership, teamwork, creativity, problem solving, and digital skills, including a knowledge of how technology can help with a range of job tasks and roles, and the ability to use data to learn and improve.
Employers should do everything they can to support the mental health of their employees. Huge strides have been made, both in awareness and action, and employers are increasingly taking an active role in supporting good mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
