Tackling the problem of plastic waste
Shocking statistics and images are driving business and consumer concern about the impact of plastic on the natural environment. More than 300 million tons of plastic are produced annually with 10% ending up in the sea, meaning plastic will outweigh fish by 2050. Plastic is embedded in ecosystems with a 1:2 ratio of plastic to plankton (a major food source) meaning humans who eat seafood ingest 11,000 pieces of microplastic each year. Plastic is even found in Arctic and Antarctic sea ice and a plastic waste island twice the size of France can be found in the Pacific Ocean.
We will share with you what our leading members have been doing to kick the plastic habit - look for alternatives, collaborate and innovate to tackle the trickiest plastic problem.
This webinar will share the challenges that our ecosystems are facing caused by plastic and how this affects your organisation. It will also give you a practical eight step plan to help you kick the habit, and inspire you with examples of best practice.
Who should attend?
Any organisation wishing to reduce impact on the environment, particularly in reducing consumption of single use plastic. From manufacturing, to service sector, to office-based organisations. Single use plastic is prevalent – make sure your organisation isn’t part of the problem.
